Parks for wedding ceremonies near hinckley, minnesota

It's interesting:
"Sorry if the speeches drag on. Wedding receptions can be a bit like an X Factor results show. You just want to skip through the talky bits to find out ..."

The small town of Hinckley, located near the western Minnesota border, is home to 1,300 people. Numerous state parks also call the Hinckley area home, each gifted with its own natural beauty. Natural formations, rivers and lakes all dot the land and offer the perfect place for weddings and couples looking for a bit of fresh air for their special day.

  1. Banning State Park

    • Saying "I do" at Banning State Park, located 12 miles north of Hinckley, is ideal for nature enthusiasts. Exchange vows before the ancient sandstone rock formations to create a lasting memory or choose the churning Kettle River rapids as the ambient background sounds for your ceremony. Photograph against the backdrop of the Wolf Creek Falls for that perfect wedding day image. Open year-round, group camping is available between May 1 and October 31. As of October 2010, camping is $50 a night.

    St. Croix State Park

    • Wed in modern indoor comfort while still surrounded by Minnesota's natural wilderness. Travel 15 miles east of downtown Hinckley and the St. Croix State Park offers use of its Modern Group Center. Sitting close to the St. Croix River and the shores of Lake Clayton, ensure that your special day is not interrupted by inclement weather. Should Mother Nature cooperate, wedding activities can include use of the parks biking and snowmobile trails, or mounting a saddle to a horse to gallop into the setting sun.

Choose from five lakes--Moose Lake included--on which to set your waterfront ceremony. Sand, Island and Sturgeon Lakes all lie mere minutes due south of the park, while little Hanging Horn Lake sits just northeast. Stay the night with your party as year-round camping is available.
