Spring is one of the most popular times of year to tie the knot. During March, the air usually is warmer and the flowers and trees are blooming. When you select foods for a March wedding, you should take the environmental factors into consideration. You also should choose a menu that complements your wedding's overall style.

  1. Beverages

    • Jazz up a March wedding with creative cocktails and refreshments. Serve colorful fruit spritzers with fresh flowers floating on top. You can pair sangria with frozen grapes, instead of ice. Add frozen berries and fruits--such as frozen melon balls and frozen blueberries--to the champagne punch. When the fruit thaws, it will not dilute the beverages as much as melted ice. Decorate large basins with flowers and fill them with beer and ice.

    Appetizers

    • When guests arrive at your reception, they will be ready to eat. Appetizers allow the guests, as well as the bride and groom, time to mingle comfortably without getting hungry. There are several different one-bite appetizers that work well at a March wedding.
