Wedding crafts to make yourself

Wedding crafts to make yourself

It's interesting:
"I can’t imagine a happier way to start married life than in this wonderful venue with all their family and friends around them. Ok, so I can – but it would have to be an exceptionally big Jacuzzi."

Weddings are symbolic, special and meaningful. They should be about the bride and groom coming together and creating memories, not about how much money was spent. One huge way to save money and create more memories is to make some of the wedding projects yourself. Gather the bridal wedding party, mothers, sisters and friends and have a wedding craft party.

  1. Flowers

    • A large part of the wedding budget is spent on flowers. To save some of that money, or just to be able to save the flowers forever, create your own arrangements using silk flowers. You can use fresh flowers as well, but the silk ones never die or fade. You can make boutonnieres, corsages, bouquets, centerpieces, hair wreaths, and chair and pew decorations. Use hot glue, pretty ribbon or twine to hold the flowers together, depending on your colors and theme.

    Favors

    • Favor ideas are literally endless. You can fill little candle holders or swatches of material with candy and tie it decoratively with ribbon. Create decals to put on votive candle holders and add tulle under a votive. Put personalized photos or name tags in small decorative picture frames and use them as markers for your seating arrangements. You can make gel candles in unique holders. Decorate little ceramic figurines. Make the favors reflect your wedding, relationship and personalities.

    Printed Paper Creations

    • It is extremely easy to make your own unique paper crafts that have a special story to tell. Create a schedule or wedding program. Design unique "maps" instead of seating charts, with each table bearing the name of a place that is special to the bride and groom and include a brief story of why it's special. Write out how you met, your journey, special vacations or the story of the proposal. Present it as a scroll, frame it, draw or stencil on it. For a small wedding, if your penmanship is phenomenal, consider handwritten items. Either way, your guests will feel special when you chose to include them in such a personal way.
