Verse ideas for a wedding card

Verse ideas for a wedding card

It's interesting:
"There's something special about a church wedding, but most of us here have to admit that we rarely set foot inside a church these days. In fact ..."

Use a verse from the Bible, a poem or even a song to express yourself to the newly married couple more adequately. Whether you want to convey a romantic, spiritual or funny message, you can always find a verse appropriate for the occasion from books, wedding magazines or the Internet. Consider the couple's personality and your relationship with them when deciding on the appropriate verse. Most importantly, let it come from the heart.

  1. Biblical

    • Let Biblical verses speak of your wishes for the bride and groom. The Holy Scripture is filled with messages of love, such as 1 Corinthians 13:4-8, which says, "Love is patient, love is kind..." and so on. Or Ephesians 5:21-30, which speaks of how husband and wife must love, serve and treat one another. Bible verses are good ways of imparting messages of wisdom to guide the newly married couple in their new life together.

    Poetry

    • Send a heartfelt wish using verses from poems, such as this one from Verse 4 Cards:

"May you have warm words on a cold evening,

A full moon on a dark night, And the road downhill all the way to your door."

Search books of poems or the Internet for a specific verse you know will be able to touch the couple's hearts. Add your own words to briefly elaborate on the message for a personal touch.

    Recipe

    • Find a recipe for a happy marriage verse such as this version of The Recipe for a Happy Life #8 from Verse 4 Cards: "1 cup consideration, 2 cups praise, 1 small pinch of in laws, 1 teaspoon contentment, 1 gallon of patience, 2 tablespoons flattery, 1 cup encouragement, a dash of faith and trust...blend well, sweeten with generous portions of love. Keep warm with a steady flame of passion. Serves 2." Such recipe verses are available from Websites offering card dedications free for anyone to use.

    Special Dedication

    • Search for verses specific to your relationship with the bride or groom. If you think you are not a very good writer or if you feel your own words are not enough to express how you truly feel, verses containing messages from a mother to her son, from a father to his daughter, and so on, are also available to let you express your feelings more sufficiently. The following is an excerpt of such verse from Imag-e-nation:

"Today dear daughter, as you walk down the aisle

You'll see all the faces wearing a smile.

But as we remember those young tender years

Our smiles will conceal a few hidden tears.

It isn't through sadness , our emotions just whirl

As we're both thinking back to our dear little girl..."
