Bridal ponytail hairstyles

It's interesting:
"Sorry if the speeches drag on. Wedding receptions can be a bit like an X Factor results show. You just want to skip through the talky bits to find out ..."

Finding the perfect hairstyle for your wedding day can seem overwhelming, but it doesn't have to be. A simple ponytail is elegant and easy and will last through a night of photographs and dancing. Dress up a classic ponytail for your special day by adding curls or a princess tiara.

Does this Spark an idea?

  1. Low Ponytail

    • A low ponytail is a classic and polished look you can create with minimum effort and the style works well with all hair types. First brush back your hair and pull it tight into a ponytail at the base of the neck. Secure with an elastic band. Mist your hair lightly with hairspray to tame flyaways. Cover the elastic with a decorative flower or rhinestone pin to complete the look.

    Side Ponytail with Curls

    • A low, side ponytail is elegant and accentuates the hair without it being loose and tousled. To create this hairstyle, you must have long hair. If your hair is short to medium-length, get extensions, which increases the length and thickness of your hair. First apply curling spray to towel-dried hair. Curl the hair using a large barrel curling iron. Part the hair on the right side. Using several bobby pins, pin the hair, starting halfway down the back of the head. Continue to pin the tresses to the left side, near your nape. Mist with hairspray.

    Ponytail with Pouf

    • A pouf adds height and volume and modernizes the ponytail for a striking look. This style works on hair not freshly washed. If your hair is clean, apply hairspray and brush to apply texture. Start at the front of the head, take a section of hair 1½--inches deep and hold it in front of the head. Using a wide-tooth comb, start about five inches from the scalp and move the comb down about 10 times. Flip the hair back and smooth the top. Mist with hairspray. Gather hair into a ponytail to finish the look.

    Half Ponytail

    • A half ponytail cascades down the back but keeps hair out of your face- a must for wedding photographs. Smooth hair back with a brush. Tease the hair at the crown using a wide tooth comb- brush downward starting about five inches from the scalp. Starting at each ear, separate the top portion from the rest of the hair and secure at the back of your head with an elastic band. For a more romantic look, curl the hair with a wide-barrel curling iron before separating into a half ponytail.
