Wedding destinations in texas

It's interesting:
"The best way to get a wedding reception crowd on side is too say something nice about the bride ... You could also add that it's been a wonderful wedding so far."

Couples looking to throw a destination wedding in the state of Texas have numerous locales from which to choose. You can opt for a beach wedding on South Padre Island. You can be a Ewing for the day, throwing your wedding at Southfork Ranch, the family's home in the hit 80s television show Dallas, or choose a Victorian-style mansion in Austin. No matter your taste or budget, Texas has something for you.

  1. South Padre Island

    • South Padre Island is just off the coast of Texas and while the island is a popular destination for college students on spring break, its appeal extends to state residents and a myriad of other visitors. For laid-back couples, the island offers a respite and its famous no-tie rule. Hold your ceremony on the beach or choose one of the island's hotels or resorts for your wedding ceremony and reception and stay on for your honeymoon. Wedding planners, DJs, florists and photographers all service the South Padre Island area, so you can hire the service providers you need to put together your very special day. Resorts and hotels on the island also have in-house wedding coordinators that can help you see to every detail.

    Southfork Ranch

    • Southfork Ranch was the setting for the hit show Dallas and it can be the setting for your wedding production. The Ewing mansion and grounds, as well as 10 event rooms, are available for ceremonies and receptions. The ranch, which hosts 1,400 events per year, has two full-time staff members dedicated to helping brides and grooms choose the menu, flowers, cake, transportation, entertainment, linens and dé-cor. Located in Parker, Texas, the ranch is just 35 minutes from Dallas, letting your guests easily enjoy the pleasures of the country and city.

    The Allan House

    • The Allan House is a Victorian mansion in the heart of downtown Austin. The mansion has beautiful grounds, giving you the option of an indoor or outdoor wedding. Outdoor space includes a stone patio area surrounded by oak trees and Texas flowers. Inside, the mansion can hold up to 75 people or 50 to 75 weddings guests for a sit-down dinner. The courtyard of the mansion can accommodate larger weddings.
