Wedding getaways in branson mo

Wedding getaways in branson, mo

It's interesting:
"Humorous wedding observations ... Traditional outfits * Scottish dress * Marquee * Wedding venue (golf club, castle, barn, posh) * Wedding location ..."

Located in the scenic Ozark Mountains, Branson Missouri has plenty of wedding getaway options. Whether the bride and groom are looking to have an intimate wedding ceremony on their own, or want family and friends to join them at a getaway from home celebration, the choices are limited only by their imaginations and available budget. Getaway packages often include the ceremony, a photographer and sometimes even champagne and a cake, as well as honeymoon accommodations.

  1. Preparation

    • To ensure that the wedding ceremony can be performed at the time and venue of choice in Branson, it is important that the couple first secures the marriage license. Both parties must visit either Taney County Courthouse or Stone County Courthouse and show current photographic identification such as a driver's license or passport. The marriage license is valid for 30 days from the date of issuance and may be used anywhere within the state of Missouri, including Branson. It must be presented to the wedding officiant, before he can conduct the ceremony. The cost as of January, 2011, is $51.

State regulations do not allow blood relatives, down to and including first cousins, to be married. To marry without parental consent, both parties must be at least 18 years old. In-person parental consent is required for a marriage license to be issued to parties aged 15 to 17.

    Venues

    • Plenty of venues are available in Branson for your ceremony. There are churches and chapels catering to most religious denominations, as well as hotels and attractions that will host weddings:

Silver Dollar City is a pioneer-themed amusement park, which offers ceremonies in its Wilderness Chapel and reception facilities and catering services to accommodate up to 55 guests. As at 2011, the cost for a ceremony for the bride and groom only is $400. A ceremony and buffet meal for 55 guests costs $2,200.

Titanic Branson is a museum attraction shaped like the historic Titanic and built to half-scale of the actual steamship. Wedding ceremonies, conducted by the ship's captain, are held at the waterfall at the bow or on the sumptuous Grand Staircase. Ceremonies and receptions for up to 400 guests can be accommodated.

Those seeking a more intimate venue for up to 12 guests may prefer their ceremony at the Log Chapel of the Ozarks. The simple cedar log chapel is available for Christian ceremonies for as little as $200, as of 2011.

    Honeymoons

    • From the AAA Four-Diamond Chateau on the Lake Resort and Spa to golf resorts, smaller hotels, houseboats, cabins and bed and breakfast inns, Branson has accommodations to suit honeymooners' budgets large and small. Contact the Branson/Lakes Area Convention and Visitors Bureau for accommodation listings.

Chateau on the Lake offers a Romantic Rendezvous one-night getaway, including champagne and chocolate-dipped strawberries served in a spacious lakefront, king-size room with sitting area.

Committed to protecting the environment, Big Cedar Lodge offers two-night Romance Getaways and a Honeymoon Package that includes a horse-drawn carriage ride around the grounds.

The Hilton Promenade at Branson Landing offers a Romance Package including a room-upgrade, red roses, early check-in and an in-room breakfast.

    Shows

    • There are plenty of exciting shows in Branson- take advantage of your getaway to visit some of them.

Presley's Country Jubilee is a family country and gospel music and comedy show, which has its roots in performances in the caverns of the Ozarks back in the 1800s.

The Acrobats of China at the New Shanghai Circus perform in their purpose-built New Shanghai Theatre, complete with waterfalls and Chinese decoration.

George Harrison's sister has produced what is billed as "the ultimate Beatles experience" in Liverpool Legends, a show featuring the band's work and music from their individual solo careers.

Branson is synonymous with the legendary Andy Williams who performs at his own Moon River Theater. Guests for his 2011 season include Ann Margret and Glenn Campbell.
