Ring tattoo ideas

Ring tattoo ideas

It's interesting:
"My first impression of Linda was that she was such a beautiful, witty, charming, clever, friendly and thoughtful person. And when she agreed to marry Paul, it totally proved to me that old adage – opposites really do attract."

People get tattoos for many reasons. Some get tattoos of the names of their children and spouses or of a deceased loved one to show their devotion to family. Others may get tattoos to show personal identity with an ethnic, cultural or religious symbol. Still others get tattoos simply because they like them and wish to decorate their bodies.

One kind of tattoo that is rising in popularity is the ring tattoo. Ring tattoos refer to tattoos circling the fingers or toes rather than those circling wrists, ankles or biceps. These larger tattoos are called band tattoos, though they are circular like ring tattoos.

  1. Toe Rings

    • Foot jewelry, like toe rings, is popular among young women. Metal toe rings are usually wide bands with one open side so they can be put on easily and squeezed tight around the toe. Some may find toe rings uncomfortable, and they are easy to lose. Toe ring tattoos are a good option, especially if you already want a tattoo. The toe ring tattoo will circle the base of the toe you choose. Pick a simple, small design without a lot of small details. The details get lost in very small designs and bleed together quickly. Choose a ring of flowers or goldfish or perhaps a dolphin or cat curling around your toe.

    Names

    • Some married couples get wedding band tattoos that include each other’-s names. You can also get ring tattoos on other fingers with the names of other loved ones. For instance, if you already have a wedding band tattoo, get the names of your children tattooed around the other fingers of your left hand. Have a best friend’-s name tattooed on the ring finger of your right hand. Choose a simple font for name tattoos. Since the space for them is small, complicated calligraphy may be hard to read. Cursive may work if the name is short, but try to stick to something elegant and clear.

    Animals

    • Get your favorite animal or an animal that means something special to you tattooed as a ring. As mentioned above, cats and dolphins are popular as traditional rings are easily tattooed in small spaces. Butterflies can be tattooed with the wings wrapping around your finger and can cover as much or as little space as you like. Most birds will work for the same reason, but keep in mind that a bird’-s body is wider and the wings will have to wrap almost the whole way around your finger. Snakes coil naturally and fit nicely on fingers, as do lizards. Choose only one or two colors for any of these tattoos, as small tattoos bleed together more easily than large ones.
