Preserving wedding bouquets in glass

Preserving wedding bouquets in glass

It's interesting:
"Linda is an extraordinary woman. Resilient and fun-loving. If anyone had told me Paul would find a woman who loves gourmet cooking, travelling to exotic places and debating the merits of the Arsenal back four as much as him, I wouldn't have believed them. Yet here she is. You two are going to have quite a life together. "

Preserving your wedding bouquet can be easy by freeze drying your flowers, then placing the flowers in glass. This method is best, because the flowers will not die or rot behind your glass display. Freeze drying can help preserve your flowers without them becoming damaged. Methods, such as pressing and heating can easily damage and break off petals. Figuring out your budget and your expectations will help you narrow down the method of drying and the glass centerpiece that is going to be used.

Things You'll Need

  • Paper towels
  • Glass dome
  • Silicone sealant

Instructions

  1. Freezing Your Flowers

    • 1

Wash the flowers. Wipe them with a dry rag then put the flowers between two paper towels.

    • 2

Place the flowers in the freezer. Leave them there for five to seven days or until they have frosted.

    • 3

Take the flowers out of the freezer and place them in the refrigerator. Leave them there until you are ready to place them in the glass dome.

    Displaying The Flowers

    • 4

Purchase a glass dome. Stores, such as Michael's, Target and Wal-Mart have different size domes that you can open to place your flowers into them.

    • 5

Open the dome. Arrange the flowers in a way that you see fit, such as color coordinating them.

    • 6

Close the glass. Use a silicone sealant to seal the glass shut. This will allow the flower display to be insulated. Let the sealant dry for about 24 hours.

    • 7

Display your flowers. Place the flowers in plain sight, so your friends and family can compliment your flower display.
