Humans have a scent that is distinctive to animals. This is a problem for a hunter who wants to surprise his prey. Removing perfumes and other human odors from clothing and footwear is important to controlling human scent. Rubber boots block human odor and are an inexpensive option to leather boots. However, some hunters find them to be uncomfortable. Scent-blocking leather hunting boots are expensive. Instead, learn get the human scent and new shoe smell out your hunting boots for the next hunting excursion.
Instructions
1. Wash plastic or rubber hunting boots with other hunting clothes in washing machine with 1 cup of baking soda and 1 scoop of oxygen bleach per load. This will remove the human scent. Do not use detergent or fabric softener.
2. Dry in the clothes dryer without any fabric softener sheets.
3. Spray leather boots with pet enzyme solution to remove new shoe smell.
4. Let the leather boots dry.
5. Store the plastic, rubber or leather boots and hunting clothes in a large, heavy-duty plastic bag until ready to wear for hunting.
