Places to get married in nashville, tennessee

It's interesting:
"You know, I’ve been to lots of great weddings, but today may have been the best. The small, ornate chapel – the beautiful music – the sincere words that Paul and Linda wrote themselves. Ladies and gentlemen, we all witnessed something very special."

For music lovers and even just lovers of Southern towns, Nashville offers more than just country music. In north central Tennessee, couples can wed in almost any type of setting they wish -- outdoors, in a historic mansion or in downtown Nashville. The capital of the state of Tennessee is filled with elegant venues and reception halls as well as plenty of Southern charm.

  1. Downtown

    • In the heart of music city, engaged couples have several wedding venue options. The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum (countrymusichalloffame.org) -- which generally showcases exhibits and tells the history of country music -- also serves as a wedding venue, offering its conservatory and courtyard, rotunda or library for special events. In addition to catering services, the venue also can set couples up with a suitable local musician. Just outside the downtown area is Riverwood Mansion (riverwoodmansion.com), an antebellum style home with gardens, a pavilion and catering services. The grounds are available for up to 300 guests at any time, all year round. The mansion is also near the Gaylord Opryland Resort (gaylordhotels.com/gaylord-opryland).

    Chapels

    • Wedding chapels are spread all over Nashville. Bridal Path Wedding Chapel (bridalpathwedchapel.com) offers services for simply the couple or up to 100 guests in addition to photograph, videography and reception services. Providing wedding services since 1991, the chapel is close to the Opryland Resort and the Nashville airport. For a more colorful wedding ceremony, couples can wed or renew their vows at Rhinestone Wedding Chapel (rhinestoneweddingchapel.com). Couples can choose from 15- or 30-minute ceremonies with up to 50 guests. Unconventional couples can try the Hillbilly Wedding package -- a true Southern, country wedding, complete with hay bales, overalls, a BBQ feast and an Elvis sighting.

    Historical Places

    • Like most Southern towns, Nashville boasts historical homes and places, some of which offer wedding and reception services. At the historic Belmont Mansion (belmontmansion.com), weddings for up to 140 guests are available for evening ceremonies in the 19th-century home and museum. A reception area for up to 150 guests is available, as is a wedding coordinator and a minister. For couples who prefer more of a country setting, Cedarwood (cedarwoodweddings.com) is an 1830s antebellum farm and event venue. Weddings for up to 175 guests are available inside or outdoors, in the gardens, in the vintage barn or in the parlor. Cedarwood also offers wedding planning, catering and design services.

    Outdoor Sites

    • On pleasant Southern days from the spring to early fall, couples might prefer outdoor venues to hold their wedding ceremonies. Belle Meade Plantation (bellemeadeplantation.com) accommodates up to 500 guests on its grounds. Catering and wine from the Belle Meade winery are available. Cheekwood (cheekwood.org) art and gardens offers wedding services in one of its six outdoor areas, various types of gardens, a reflection pool area or an intimate trail. Accommodations allow for up to 300 guests, and reception areas also are available. Couples worried about the weather at the outdoor venues can ask about backup indoor facilities.
