Vineyard wedding themes

Vineyard wedding themes

It's interesting:
"And for those of you who don't know, this special day in the lives of Dave and Sarah also happens to be Chinese New Year! Or, as they call it in China."

A wedding with a vineyard theme will provide a simple yet elegant experience for wedding guests. Grapes are generally associated with love, abundance and good luck, the perfect symbols to incorporate into a wedding celebration, and a vineyard theme will create a beautiful and tranquil setting for a couple's special day.

  1. Season

    • When planning a vineyard wedding, choose a season that will complement the theme of the wedding. Fall is a good option, as the rustic, natural beauty of the season provides an added flair to the nuptials. Take advantage of colorful autumn leaves, seasonal fruits such as pumpkins and freshly bottled wine. Spring and summer seasons bring about gardens in full bloom, which make a beautiful service or reception backdrop.

    Venue

    • An ideal location for a vineyard wedding is either a winery or a vineyard. A bride and groom may choose to have the ceremony performed outside in a designated gazebo or garden, or under a tent. Many vineyards and wineries also offer inside accommodations such as restaurants, wine cellars or other reception facilities. For a couple with no access to a vineyard or winery, try a restaurant thatoffers wine tastings or an event company which is able to provide a suitable vineyard-related location.

    Decorations

    • For understated elegance, utilize the rustic and natural beauty of the wedding venue as much as possible when considering accessories and decorations. You can choose accessories such as vines, eye-catching wine bottles and grapes for dé-cor. Centerpieces could include fall-inspired decorations such as colorful leaves, seasonal flowers and seasonal fruits. Add grape leaves to the centerpieces to further incorporate the theme. Ideal colors for the decorations are burgundy, dark green and gold.

    Menu

    • Center the menu of a vineyard wedding on the wine. Select a variety of red, white and blush wines and work with the catering staff to create a menu that works well with the wines. Each course can be paired with a particular wine to add an interesting take on the reception dinner. Consider offering a signature drink or a wine tasting during the time between the ceremony and the reception, and make the food and wine a highlight of the wedding reception.
