What are great wedding colors

What are great wedding colors?

It's interesting:
"Now, I think you'll agree, after seeing the amount of free booze available at this wedding, that it's a good job it's a Bank Holiday this weekend. And if you do ..."

Great wedding colors are those that make the bride feel beautiful. It is all about the bride on this momentous occasion and she gets to use her favorite color combinations to accent the special day. Allow her to decide between a soft, romantic look- a bold, dramatic look or one that is exotic. Then, pick the colors that match the mood.

  1. Red and White

    • Bring the color of romance into the wedding. A bold red dress will have all eyes on the bride as she walks down the aisle. If an all-red dress won't do, try a white dress tinged with a red piping on the top of the bodice, around the waist, along the hem and a red-panel train in the back. Another option is for the bride to dress in white and the bridesmaids to dress in red. Dress the groom and his party in white tuxes, with striped red ties, and a matching boutonniere. Red roses for love and white for innocence combine in table linens, flower arrangements and the bridal bouquet. Run popping red satin bows along the pews and the back of the chairs with faux pearl beads along the knot to formalize the look.

    Cobalt Blue and Cream

    • All brides need something blue for their wedding, so go dramatic in a cream-colored dress with cobalt accents. Cream white pearls surrounding a deep blue topaz for the neck combined with one on the wrist rounds out the wedding jewelry until the ring is placed on her finger. Blue orchids accented with sweet smelling gardenias for the bridal bouquet and flower arrangements create a striking design. Place a cobalt blue runway for the bride accented with white satin bows on the ends of the pew. Cobalt table linens and a white table runner mixed with blue and white dishes finish the look. Also, keep the look classic as you dress the men in white tails with a cobalt blue shirt and striped tie.

    Black, White and Green

    • Fresh meets dramatic in this color combination to create a modern and elegant look. A white wedding dress rimmed with black accents--or go black for a Gothic wedding--and trimmed with green accents can appear exotic. An alternate option is the bride in white and the bridesmaids in a pale green or a black dress accented with white. Pair the wedding dress with a simple nosegay of white gardenias surrounding one black hollyhock wrapped with a banana leaf. Dress the groom and his merry men in black on black with a white and green striped tie. Black table linens covered with bright green accents and white plates keep the look fresh.
