Cake table decoration ideas

It's interesting:
"Linda’s been the driving factor when it came to planning this wedding, and Linda, it was perfect! All your hard work paid off, and I must say I’m honoured to be part of the only 5 minutes that you didn’t get to plan!"

The wedding cake is one of the showpieces of any wedding reception. Undoubtedly, a beautiful cake deserves a beautiful cake table. While you'll certainly want your cake table to match the rest of your reception decor, it is important to remember that the wedding cake itself should be the main focus. By keeping the table decorations simple and understated, you can create a gorgeous and effective display for your wedding cake.

  1. Cover the Table

    • A tablecloth is one of the easiest ways to instantly transform a boring table into an elegant one. A classic white tablecloth is the most popular choice, because it provides a neutral foundation on which to work. There are a number of ways you can add style and color to the table. For example, you might use a colored runner across the table, or use colored streamers or ribbons around the edge of the table. However, instead of white, you may choose a tablecloth in one of your wedding colors. If you are feeling extra chic, you might choose to use a patterned or lace tablecloth. Some popular tablecloth patterns include florals, stripes, and polka dots. While you will need to take extra care to ensure that your cake table does not become too busy, these styles can certainly look elegant and beautiful when used correctly.

    Scatter Small Items

    • Scattering small objects across the table is an easy and creative way to decorate the cake table. Some of the most common items to use include glitter, confetti, and flower petals. However, you have the opportunity to get quite creative here. Use items that symbolize your wedding or wedding cake in some way. For example, use orange and yellow leaves for an autumn wedding. If your wedding is in the winter, scatter fake snowflakes across the table. For a beach wedding, use small seashells. If your wedding has a country theme, you may even choose to scatter hay across the table. The most important thing to remember is not to distract from the wedding cake.

    Use a Special Object

    • Instead of scattering small objects across the table, you may choose to use just one special object to display with the cake on the table. Again, your creativity can flow freely here, and you should use something that symbolizes your wedding or relationship. You could display one of your engagement pictures in a beautiful frame. Or, frame a copy of your wedding invitation. If your have an elegant cake server and cutting knife, you can display those next to the wedding cake. If you had a poem recited during your ceremony, you may choose to put that poetry book on the cake table, opened to that particular poem. Some couples even choose to add a chocolate fountain or champagne fountain to the cake table- not only does this provide visual appeal, but also gives your guests something extra to enjoy.
