How to make creative and modern wedding invitations

make creative and modern wedding invitations

It's interesting:
"I hope you like these wedding suits. To make sure I would be able to fit into mine I 've been watching my weight. As you can see I've had it right out in front of me ..."

The traditional wedding invitation is a standard way of inviting your guests. However, the invitation is also a reflection of you and your partner's big day. Create a modern invitation that moves beyond the traditional. While you still need to provide the basics, such as location and date, you don't need to be constrained to engraved cream invitations. Create an invitation reflective of your style and approach to the day.

Things You'll Need

  • Some Knowledge of Technology
  • Creativity
  • The Wording for Your Invite
  • Postage Stamps

Instructions

    • 1

Put your invitation on a DVD. Use a software program, such as Windows Movie Maker, to set photos of you and your future spouse to music. Insert a slide with your wedding invitation, including all the location and timing details, at the end or the start of the DVD. Your guests place the DVD into a DVD player to watch your invitation come to life.

    • 2

Create a wedding website. Many wedding sites allow you to create your own site for free. On the site, include pictures of you and your partner, music, reception information and details about events surrounding the wedding. This approach saves you postage since you don't have to mail a wedding packet. Use the site to collect RSVPs and create a virtual guest book. Either include the website with your wedding invitations or send out a link to your guests via email.

    • 3

Use a printed invitation, but make it your own. Place bright and bold colors on your invitation, or use pictures instead of words. Include pictures as part of your design. Use ribbon and embellishment stickers to include color and stand out.

    • 4

Use a different shape. Invitations don't have to be the traditional rectangle. Use an oval shape, a shape mimicking a flip flop for a beach wedding, or create an invitation that looks like a flower for an island theme. If you're having a Vegas wedding, make your invitation look like a playing card and include poker chips with your pictures.

Tips &- Warnings

  • Have a friend help you.

  • Hire a student or a freelance designer, they will not charge you as much as a major company.

  • You can do all of these ideas yourself.
