Located in the scenic Ozark Mountains, Branson Missouri has plenty of wedding getaway options. Whether the bride and groom are looking to have an intimate wedding ceremony on their own, or want family and friends to join them at a getaway from home celebration, the choices are limited only by their imaginations and available budget. Getaway packages often include the ceremony, a photographer and sometimes even champagne and a cake, as well as honeymoon accommodations.
Preparation
To ensure that the wedding ceremony can be performed at the time and venue of choice in Branson, it is important that the couple first secures the marriage license. Both parties must visit either Taney County Courthouse or Stone County Courthouse and show current photographic identification such as a driver's license or passport. The marriage license is valid for 30 days from the date of issuance and may be used anywhere within the state of Missouri, including Branson. It must be presented to the wedding officiant, before he can conduct the ceremony. The cost as of January, 2011, is $51.
State regulations do not allow blood relatives, down to and including first cousins, to be married. To marry without parental consent, both parties must be at least 18 years old. In-person parental consent is required for a marriage license to be issued to parties aged 15 to 17.
