North Jersey is the colloquial term for the northern counties of New Jersey, an area with urban attractions in greater Newark and recreation in the Skylands region. These North Jersey sites offer venues for indoor and outdoor wedding ceremonies. Many of these venues also facilitate receptions and provide catering services. North Jersey also features inexpensive bridal salons. Some of North Jersey's hotels offer ballrooms for weddings and group room rates for out-of-town guests.

  1. Large Receptions

    • The Newark Liberty International Airport Marriott is on the property of Liberty International Airport, which serves the greater Newark area. This hotel accommodates up to 700 people for wedding receptions in its 6,200 square-foot Grand Ballroom. Catering and wedding coordination is available through Marriott's Creative Catering and Event Services Team.

      The Stone House at Sterling Ridge is a restaurant in Warren, New Jersey. This venue features the Grand Ballroom, an elegant space with chandeliers and stone floors. The seating capacity of this room is approximately 500 guests. The Stone House has gardens for wedding photos. Sit-down and buffet-style catering is available.

    Intimate Ceremonies

    • Perona Farms is in Andover, less than a mile from Lake Mohawk. This venue hosts intimate ceremonies on the lawn of a small island in the Farm's lake- a stone pathway connects the island to the mainland. The pathway accommodates approximately 20 to 30 people for ceremonies. Perona also provides a ballroom and catering for receptions.

      The Old Mill Inn is in Basking Ridge, a community in the Bernards Township. One of the Inn's buildings, Grain House, was built in the 18th century and features the Hunt Room, a space that accommodates 120 guests for wedding events. The Hunt Room has a stone fireplace and antique furniture pieces. An small outdoor patio is adjacent to the Grain House for intimated outdoor receptions.

    Great Views

    • Located in Vernon, New Jersey, the Crystal Springs Resort offers the Emerald Ballroom in the Grand Cascades Lounge- this facility has a seating capacity of 300 guests and overlooks the nearby Kittany Mountains. The resort's Black Bear Clubhouse accommodates 185 guests and provides views of the Black Bear Golf Course's fairways.

      The Sheraton Mahwah Hotel is in Mahwah, less than a mile from the New Jersey-New York border. This hotel hosts wedding receptions in the Skylite Ballroom. This ballroom is on the hotel's 12th floor and provides views of the Rampano mountain range. On ground level, the hotel's five-acre garden area is available for wedding photos with the Rampanos in the background.

    Affordable Salons

    • Arlene's Bridal Salon is in Bloomfield, a northwestern suburb in the greater Newark area. It has been in business for over 30 years. This wedding salon provides up to 50-percent discounts for discontinued sample wedding dresses. The salon includes top-of-the-line designers and also offers gown preservation services.
