It's interesting:
"Today, I think we have all learned that there are few things more marvellous than an Autumn wedding, and nothing more beautiful than a Fall bride. It is wonderful occasions like this that provide us all with great memories that we will never, ever forget, and I am incredibly honoured to have been of part of this special day. Also, I want to thank you for getting married at this time of the year, because now, whenever I see the leaves turning colour and falling off the trees, I’ll be reminded that it’s time to buy your anniversary gift."

Planning a rush wedding because of extraordinary circumstances or simply due to the bride and groom's unconventional personalities can be overwhelming and stressful. Whether you only have three months, six weeks or four weeks to prepare however, knowing the basics of wedding planning, plus a couple of tips and tricks, can help you achieve your dream wedding. Organization, careful time and task management and the support of reliable family and friends are key to planning a wedding on a limited time.

Instructions

    • 1

Secure the venue first thing when you're on a tight schedule. Most traditional venues such as grand ballrooms and churches popular for weddings require bookings way in advance. Opt for a weekday schedule to have better chances, or find a smaller church which may not be so coveted by bride-and-grooms, but still captures your heart. The faster route though may be to wed at the city hall or in a relative's lush gardens.

    • 2

Find an off-the-rack dress, which may not necessarily be a traditional bridal gown, but which would do the job just as beautifully. Buy used by going on the Internet as well as looking in thrift shops near you. Save more time by asking your bridesmaids to search for their dresses simultaneously. Have them send you picture messages by phone, so you can approve their choices, while you're picking your own.

Ask your mother or mother-in-law to take care of the catering. It would be a good opportunity to show her that you value her opinion at this very special day in your life. Mothers may appreciate having an important involvement in your wedding preparation. Make sure she asks if the caterer offers a complete reception package, including venue decoration, wine for toasting and cake design. Coordinating with only one supplier for these reception essentials saves you valuable time, money and unnecessary stress.

Find a friend or relative with musical gifts to provide the music for your wedding. Or simply plug in a CD or iPod with your favorite song selections pre-programmed. Assign someone to oversee the cuing of the songs.

    • 5

Book a professional photographer even if you're pressed for time. If you can't find one, as most pros are booked way in advance, look for a friend or relative who's into photography. Chances are, he has a good eye for taking creative shots. He might even give this to you or ask you to simply pay for the printing. Just tell him what kind of shots you like, so he'd know what to capture.

Don't forget the legal aspects. You and your fiance should schedule a day off from work to obtain your marriage license and attend the required seminars. If you're marrying in church, ask about required pre-nuptial courses and attend them as well.

Hire a professional wedding planner or ask one of your most reliable, most organized friends or relatives to act as your wedding coordinator. Having a point person to oversee the crucial details can help you avoid stress and look relaxed and beautiful on your wedding day. With or without a wedding coordinator though, make sure you create a task list to help you get organized and avoid getting overwhelmed.
