Jackson, New Jersey, is a township located in Ocean County. There are few outdoor pools available because the area is so close to the beach. However, there are a few public pools available for use.   1. Toms River Pool

    • Toms River pool is in the Snug Harbor area. The main pool features a water slide. There is also a spray park for smaller children. The park is open during the summer season. Monday through Friday it is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and is open on weekends and holidays from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. You can purchase a season pass, referred to as a pool badge, or you can simply choose to pay per day. The pool badge is $100 for residents and $200 for nonresidents.

      To pay per day, adults are charged $7 for weekdays and $8 for weekends and holidays, while children ages 4-12 and seniors over 62 years of age are charged $4 on weekdays and $5 on weekends and holidays. Children under age 3 are free.

    Marlboro Swim Club

    • Located in Marlboro Township, the Marlboro Swim Club is open to residents and nonresidents. It offers four swimming pools: a 50-meter Olympic size swimming pool that has lanes for lap swimmers and a standing adult lane, a dive tank pool that has 1-meter diving boards and deep water slides, an intermediate pool that is 3 to 4 feet deep at its deepest point, and a kiddie pool for young children and babies. You have to fill out a membership application and pay a membership fee. The individual rate is $225 for residents and $275 for nonresidents, while family rates are $425 for residents and $550 for nonresidents. Swimming lessons, day camps and other activities are offered at an additional charge.

    Marlboro Aquatic Center

    • The cost of weekend membership at the aquatic center, located in Marlboro Township, is $249 for a resident family and $299 for a nonresident family. An individual resident membership is $125 and an individual nonresident membership is $150. They have a zero-foot entry pool so that swimmers of all abilities and ages feel comfortable. In addition, there are a sprinkle park, lap lanes and two water slides to enjoy.

    Ocean County Park

    • Ocean County Park in Lakewood offers a freshwater outdoor lake for swimming that is clean and treated with chemicals the same way an outdoor pool is treated. The park also has a beach area for children to play. Swimming at the park is free of charge, and anyone can visit.
