How to use branches as a centerpiece for a wedding

use branches as a centerpiece for a wedding

It's interesting:
"For those of you who are attending their first Jewish wedding, there may be some customs you're unfamiliar with. Like when Paul stepped on the glass at the end ..."

Making the centerpieces for a wedding can be beneficial to the wedding budget without sacrificing style because the materials can be less expensive than pre-made centerpieces. Branch centerpieces are not only affordable but also easy to assemble. Purchase inexpensive artificial branches at craft stores or cut live branches from your yard. Arrange the centerpieces using one single branch or multiple branches. Decorate the branches with beads or flowers that match your wedding colors and style.

Things You'll Need

  • Newspaper
  • Sponge
  • Hand soap
  • Artificial or real branches
  • Towels
  • Spray paint
  • Air-dry clay
  • Vases
  • Silk flowers
  • Scissors
  • Hot glue gun
  • Glue sticks
  • String
  • Beads

Instructions

  1. Arranging Branches

    • 1

Cover the work surface with newspaper.

    • 2

Dampen a sponge with water and add a few drops of hand soap. Gently scrub branches brought in from outside to remove any dirt. Let them air dry on a towel. Do not wash purchased branches.

    • 3

Place the branches on the newspaper. Spray paint the branches. Let them dry overnight. It may take multiple coats to completely cover the branches.

    • 4

Press air-drying clay into the bottom of the vases right before you arrange the branches in the vases. Make the clay 1/2 inch thick. It is especially useful if you hang items on the branches because the clay prevents the branches from falling over from the weight of the decorations.

    • 5

Arrange the branches in the vases. Press the branches firmly into the clay for support. Center the largest branch in the vase. Surround it with shorter branches and arrange them to fit your wedding style and venue.

    Branch Decorations

    • 6

Cut the stems off of the silk flowers using scissors. Match the flowers with the wedding flowers or colors.

    • 7

Use a hot glue gun and glue sticks to glue a few flowers onto the ends of some of the branches. Use only a drop of glue on the back of the flower to hold it in place.

    • 8

Space flowers evenly and at varying heights for a more balanced look.

    Beaded Decorations

    • 9

Cut pieces of string in any length using scissors. Use different lengths to find what works best for your arrangement.

    • 10

Tie a knot in one end of the strings. Add the beads one at a time until there are only 2 inches of string left. Tie a knot next to the last bead.

    • 11

Tie the beads to the tree. Use as many strings as you desire. Position the beads at different levels.

Tips &- Warnings

  • Regardless of what kind of branches you use, make them at least 30 inches tall. Use a vase that is at least 20 inches tall.
