Homemade wedding favors

Homemade wedding favors

It's interesting:
"This wedding really couldn't come at a better time for anyone. Gary will probably be bald by this time next year. And Annabelle's just found out that ..."

Weddings can be very costly and one great way to eliminate or at least cut down on expenses is to make your own wedding favors. In addition to cutting back on costs, wedding favors serve as a thank-you gift to your guests. A homemade favor is special and symbolizes the gratitude the bride and groom have for their guests.

  1. Baked Goods

    • One of the simplest wedding favors that a bride and groom can give their guests is homemade baked goods. You can choose from many things such as personalized cookies, homemade chocolate, candy, personalized cupcakes, homemade chocolate covered pretzels and more. You can choose just one item to make or several to put in a box, bag or basket for your guests. This is a great thing for the bride to enlist her bridesmaids to help make and assemble.

    Personalized CDs

    • If the bride and groom are big music buffs, then you can thank your wedding guests with a compilation CD. The possibilities here are endless. You can make a romantic CD that represents your relationship, you can choose songs that you have requested to be played at your wedding reception or you can create a CD with your favorite songs. You can also create a themed CD. For example, say your wedding theme is "oldies," then you can select songs from that era. Another example of this would be if your wedding is classic and elegant, a CD of classical music would be a good fit. The same goes for a country music CD for a country wedding. A CD is also a great favor because you can create a personalized label for you CDs thanking your guests or using a picture of the couple with the date of your wedding as a nice keepsake.

    Ornaments

    • If you are having your wedding near the holidays, a Christmas tree ornament would be a good idea to give your guests as wedding favors. You can purchase plain ball ornaments and use a glue gun to attach beading, elegant stones, glitter and other decorations that will look great and make for the perfect seasonal wedding favor. You can also write something on the ornament with a suitable marker for glass from a craft store.

    Personalized Messages

    • If you are having a small wedding, give your guests individual messages. Use nice paper and type up a personal note for each of your guests. Use a cursive font and once printed, roll the note up into a scroll. Tie the note closed with a ribbon to set at each guests place. If you don't want to write an individual note to each guest, select a poem that holds meaning to you as a couple. A famous quote will work, too.
