The cost associated with a wedding can be prohibitive, no matter what your budget. One way to save money and add a personal touch to the day is to create your own wedding programs. Making your own programs also allows you to change text or photos right up to the last minute when you print your final copies. Although it may look difficult at first glance, making your own programs is not as hard as it may seem.

     Choose the format for your programs. Are you going to use a whole sheet or half sheet or paper, and will it be a bi-fold, tri-fold or booklet design? Are you creating a short program for a simple wedding or an elaborate one for a lengthy ceremony?

     Select the paper you will use for your programs. Heavy textured paper, white copy paper or card stock all are options for wedding programs, depending on the budget and style of your wedding. Choose a color to match or complement your wedding colors.

     Locate a template to follow when creating your program. Templates are available on many wedding-planning websites and in wedding-planning books and magazines. You don't have to follow the template word for word, but it often helps to have a rough guideline to follow.
