Jenn-Air is a well-known manufacturer of kitchen appliances, including a range of ovens for the home. Lines of ovens from Jenn-Air include the Pro-Style, Slide-In, Freestanding and Wall models. If your Jenn-Air oven happens to malfunction, it's a good idea to perform some troubleshooting before you call for service. Instructions
1. Go over the power connections for your Jenn-Air oven if it will not turn on. For electric models, it should be plugged into a working outlet. You may need to check for blown household fuses and reset the circuit breaker. For gas models, make sure the connections to the gas valve are secure and you don't smell natural gas.
2. Check the ports for your Jenn-Air gas oven. Clogged burner ports can cause the flame to be uneven while a blocked igniter port can lead to problems igniting the oven. If the ports are wet that can also lead to ignition failure.
3. Change the bulb inside the oven if the interior light does not come on. Wait until the oven has cooled and use a replacement bulb of the same wattage.
4. Place a level inside the center rack of the oven to make sure it has been installed correctly. Adjust the legs at the base of the oven if it is not level. Ovens that are not level can lead to food being cooked unevenly.
5. Wait for the self-cleaning cycle to end. If your Jenn-Air oven is in self-cleaning mode, the doors will lock and you will not be able to operate the oven until the cycle is over.
6. Clear all settings on the display of your Jenn-Air oven. For example, Sabbath mode and Delay Cook mode can prevent use of the oven until these settings are turned off.
