Wedding phtography checklist

Wedding phtography checklist

It's interesting:
"I wish anyone who thinks that ‘bigger is always better’ could be with us right now, because they would surely be amazed at the tremendous amount of happiness and joy that can flow from the right group of well wishers. We are all truly privileged to have been asked to be a part of such a warm and intimate ceremony as Paul and Linda’s wedding, I offer my love and appreciation to the bride and groom for inviting me to play a role in such a very personal gathering. I’m sure we all want to congratulate Paul and Linda on their very first day as husband and wife and thank them for giving us a day we will never forget."

Photographs of your wedding allow you to look back on the day and remember what a success it was. As a bride, you will be busy on your wedding day, but can prepare in advance to ensure that you get photographs with everyone you wish. Prepare a wedding photography checklist and discuss it with your photographer prior to your wedding. Put the photographer in charge of maintaining the list. Give another copy of the list to a bridesmaid or personal attendant as a fail safe to guarantee that you get all of the photos you want.

  1. Pre-Ceremony

    • On your list of pre-ceremony photos, you will want photos of both the bride and groom getting ready. This includes getting the following photos of the bride: hair and makeup, accessories, the dress by itself and someone helping the bride adjust the dress while she puts it on, corsages and her helping put them on her mother and father, some casual snapshots of her with her attendants, and photos of the bride with kids involved in the wedding. On the groom's side, you want to make sure to get photos of the groom getting ready, groom with groomsmen, and photos of him with his parents. Also take photos of both individuals getting ready to go to the ceremony.

    Ceremony

    • During the ceremony, you will have to trust that your photographer gets as many photos as they can of your moments. Add the following moments to your checklist: inside and outside of the wedding location, photos of people arriving and being seated, an individual picture of each person in the wedding party walking down the aisle, the officiant and any alter decorations, the actual ceremony itself of exchanging vows, rings, and the kiss, and photos of the bride and groom leaving the ceremony.

    Wedding Party

    • The photographer will get portrait poses of the entire wedding party either before or after the ceremony, depending on whether the bride wishes for the groom to see her before. Shots to make sure that they get include: full length of bride and groom, bride and groom individually with their parents and then together with their parents, bride with bridesmaids and groom with groomsmen, and the bride and groom with the ring bearer and flower girl.

    Reception

    • At the reception, you will want the photographer to get photos of the venue and all of the elements of decorating that you have done. They should take photos of the head table, speeches, cutting of the cake, gift table, and everyone arriving. When the bride and groom arrive they will likely first sign the marriage license and you need to make sure you have photos of the couple, the officiant, and the witnesses signing. Once the dancing begins, you will want photos of every special dance you do along with pictures of the bouquet toss and garter throw. At the end of the evening also make sure to have photos taken of the couple leaving to go home.
