Colleges that major in business ownership

Colleges that major in business ownership

It's interesting:
"Linda is an extraordinary woman. Resilient and fun-loving. If anyone had told me Paul would find a woman who loves gourmet cooking, travelling to exotic places and debating the merits of the Arsenal back four as much as him, I wouldn't have believed them. Yet here she is. You two are going to have quite a life together. "

The college major that teaches you to own your own business is called Entrepreneurial Studies or Entrepreneurship. It can be a standalone major in its own right or be part of a Business Administration or Business Management program. This major teaches you the foundations of starting your own business, creating business plans, management, marketing and many other aspects of owning and running a successful business.

  1. Associate's Degrees

    • Two-year colleges, mostly community colleges, offer associate's degrees in Entrepreneurial Studies. Just about every state has this program in at least one or two of their public two-year county colleges. Some of the popular colleges for the course are Central Florida Community College, Eastern Arizona College, Northwestern Business College (IL), Saint Paul College (MN), Bergen Community College (NJ), Mohawk Valley Community College (NY), Bucks County Community College (PA), Galveston College (TX) and Casper College (WY). There are many more. Each state department of higher education has a website where this information can be researched.

    Bachelor's Degrees

    • A four-year bachelor's degree program that teaches you to own a business can be earned at some very competitive colleges, such as University of Arizona, California State University at Fullerton, Quinnipiac University (CT), University of Miami (FL), Loyola University Chicago (IL), Boston University (MA), Babson College (MA), Northeastern University (MA), Central Michigan University, University of New Hampshire, Elon University (NC), University of Vermont, Duquesne University (PA), Baylor University (TX) and Brigham Young University (UT).

    Online Colleges

    • Some accredited, online-focused colleges offer this major, such as University of Phoenix, which offers a bachelor's degree in business concentrating on Small Business Management and Entrepreneurship. The program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs- a major benefit is that students can take classes from home, without having to significantly alter their busy schedules or give up their full-time jobs.

    Master's Programs

    • You might have already earned a degree in a business or other field, and now you want to study further at an advanced level. Some colleges offer a master's degree in this area. Azusa Pacific University (CA), Southern Polytechnic State University (GA), DePaul University (IL), Northwestern University (IL), Bentley University (MA), Eastern Michigan University, Fairleigh Dickinson University (NJ), SUNY Buffalo (NY), Case Western Reserve University (OH) and Southern Methodist University (TX) are a few such colleges. Online-focused schools including University of Phoenix offer master's degrees in business, as well.
