Chocolate blue wedding ideas

Chocolate & blue wedding ideas

It's interesting:
"August is the month when many folk festivals take place, where the audience stares at a bloke with a microphone and one finger stuck in his ear. In contrast ..."

Chocolate and blue weddings offer many different options due to the color shade options and the way that these colors go together so well. Bright shades of blue, like aqua or “-Tiffany blue,”- go well with the boldness of chocolate brown. Use these as accent colors in your wedding so they add to the freshness of white.

Does this Spark an idea?

  1. Invitations

    • For your invitations, mix up the usage of the colors. For example, on the invite, have a white background, with brown writing, and a blue border. Include a “-Save The Date”- calendar that is brown with white numbers and a blue heading of the month. This helps your guests visualize the date instead of just telling them.

    Party Favors

    • Your party favors can be done in all different ways depending on what you want to give. For example, if you choose to go with Tiffany blue as one of your colors, have blue bags or small blue boxes, like the ones jewelry from Tiffany's comes in. You can fill them with various items like candies or small blue and brown candles. You can still use this idea even if you go with a different shade of blue- Tiffany blue is just synonymous with the boxes and bags.

    Accessories

    • Wedding accessories include things like the ring bearer pillow, flower girl basket, garter and flowers. Use either brown or blue with each of these and couple them with white. For example, have a garter that is brown silk and white lace. For your ring bearer and flower girls, have the ring pillow white with a blue ribbon tied around it and make the flower girl baskets chocolate brown. Tie ribbons around the bouquet that match the flowers you have chosen to use. Use blue flower petals instead of the typical rose petals- poppies are blue flowers that have large enough petals to scatter on the walkway. Or you can scatter tiny blue flowers instead of petals, like blue columbines. If you do not want blue flowers, use white daisies or pink flowers, which complement the blue and chocolate theme very well. The more vibrant the blue, the more vibrant the complementary colors should be.

    Seating

    • Make the seating light for a day wedding and darker for a night wedding. For example, tie blue ribbons with white daisies in them for a day wedding. These are light colors that will keep up the sunny mood. For night time, use brown ribbons and white daisies. The white will add a bit of brightness, but the chocolate creates a darker, more romantic effect that is perfect for a night wedding. To incorporate both colors, use the other color for the tablecloth or napkins. If the blue color you have chosen is very bright, then use it for the napkins since it may be overwhelming as the tablecloth.

    Dresses and Tuxedos

    • Your bridesmaids dresses can help you decide on a shade of blue if you are struggling. You want your color choice to be uniform throughout the whole decor, so if you find a dress you really like, choose it and use the color for the rest of your wedding. For example, if you find bright teal bridesmaid dresses, use the same color for your ribbons and flower choice. Depending on the bride's dress, a ribbon the color of the dresses can be tied around her waits to bring the look full circle. The groomsmen can wear chocolate-colored tuxedos. This puts a slight twist on the traditional black tuxedo.

    Cake

    • You have many different options for your cake, but having a chocolate cake is apt for a chocolate brown and blue wedding theme. Frosting can be dyed just about any color, so have frosting that is the color blue you have chosen. Or you can use white frosting and make a blue bow from royal icing on the top of the cake so it looks like it is a present. If you have lots of flowers at your wedding, then have small flowers made of frosting on the cake that look like the flowers you have chosen, like daisies.
