It's interesting:
"Ladies and gentlemen, I shall try to be brief. I do have a habit of rambling with my speeches, so you might feel like you've walked into the Oscar ceremony by ..."

Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, is in the heart of the Great Smoky Mountains and has attractions that facilitate outdoor activities, such as off-road riding trails and amusement parks. While the town is a popular tourist destination in the winter, most of Pigeon Forge's outdoor activities occur in the summer, when temperatures are warm or moderate. Most of Pigeon Forge's hotels and restaurants are on the Parkway, which is the city's primary thoroughfare.

  1. Dollywood

    • Dollywood is the largest outdoor amusement park in the Great Smokies region of eastern Tennessee. This amusement park is named after country music legend, Dolly Parton, who was born near Pigeon Forge. Rollercoaster rides at Dollywood include the Barnstormer--a ride that reaches speeds of 45 miles per hour--Tennessee Tornado and the Mystery Mine, a 1,800-foot-long ride that travels in a coal mine setting. Dollywood also hosts outdoor festivals throughout the year, such as Barbecue & Bluegrass, Kids Fest and Festival of Nations- this is a month-long event with international dance concerts and ethnic cuisine options.

    Outdoor Adventures of the Smokies

    • The Outdoor Adventures of the Smokies company offers opportunities for off-road riding in the Great Smokies area near the cities of Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and Sevierville. Vehicles include hummers and monster trucks. The hummer tours use an original military humvee, the vehicle from which commercial hummers were patterned- this humvee accommodates up to 11 passengers and drives through trails in the Great Smoky Mountains for one hour per session. Monster truck rides take place on the company's Outdoor Adventures' track- the company's monster trucks seats 12 passengers.

    Scenic Helicopter Tours

    • Vacationers can take aerial tours of the Great Smokies area via Scenic Helicopter Tours, a Pigeon Forge-based helicopter tour company. Scenic Helicopter Tours is a family-owned company that has served the Pigeon Forge area since 1972. Local helicopter tours include flights over Douglas Lake, Bluff Mountain, Wears Valley and Gatlinburg Mountain. Headset rentals are available- these rental pieces allow passengers to talk to one another during the flight. Scenic Helicopter also hosts aerial weddings- the price of aerial weddings includes the ceremony official.

    ZORB Smoky Mountains

    • The ZORB attraction opened in Pigeon Forge in 2007 and allows visitors to roll down a hill in a ZORB globe, or a large, plastic bubble. Holes are on the side of the ZORB globes, which allows air to enter. Two rides are available at ZORB, Zydro and Zorbit. Both rides allow one to three passengers in the bubble during the ride, feature safety harnesses and provide straight or zig-zag paths. However, passengers in the Zydro bubble will get wet, since the bubble goes over water on its course. As of March 2011, passengers must be at least 8 years old for either ride.
