How to create a wedding budget organizer

create a wedding budget organizer

It's interesting:
"What about the bride then, ladies and gentlemen? How wonderful she looks today. And Paul has scrubbed up quite nicely too – it’s amazing what a flannel and a bar of soap can do. But it’s a bit rude of him to have copied my outfit eh!"

Planning a wedding is a hectic time in a couple's life, but being organized can help control the chaos. By creating a wedding budget organizer, you can keep track of every expense related to the special event. Plus, it is much cheaper than buying a wedding organizer at retail. You can also make the budget organizer your own by personalizing it and giving it a flair specific to your nuptials.

Things You'll Need

  • Computer printer
  • Binder
  • Folder
  • Dividers and tabs
  • Three-hole punch
  • Decorations, such as photos of the couple, for binder

Instructions

    • 1

Decide on what information you would like to include in the wedding budget organizer. Make sure you have separate divided sections for vendors. For example, one tab will be for flowers, another for music, another for bride and bridesmaid dresses. Other tabbed sections can include groom and groomsmen tuxes, centerpieces, favors, reception hall and food, church or ceremony site fee, wedding cake, honeymoon, miscellaneous and total budget.

    • 2

Use the computer to create sections if you want them typed, or you can simply write on looseleaf paper, whatever is easier for you. Be sure to include how much you want to spend for each tabbed section and keep a close eye on your spending by denoting all purchase costs per section.

    • 3

Create a section in the binder for the total spending. This category should have all the sections listed, as well as estimated costs based on your budget and actual costs.

    • 4

When all sections have been listed in the binder and hole punched to fit neatly, include a folder in the binder to hold all receipts and necessary information from your vendors. These receipts and contracts are very important. They will not only be used to find out how much you will owe, but are also needed if there are problems with the vendors or products.

    • 5

Decorate your binder for the wedding. Be sure to incorporate photos of the special couple on the cover.
