Places to get married in knoxville, tennessee

It's interesting:
"Charles Dickens said a measure of a woman’s love for her man was the lengths to which she was prepared to go to make him happy. If this holds true, then Linda, you have reached that goal, for Paul is the happiest I have ever seen him."

Just north of the Great Smoky Mountains is one of the state's largest cities, Knoxville. The eastern Tennessee town comes with all of the Southern charm, along with the excitement of city life and the Tennessee River. Engaged couples can have their wedding in downtown Knoxville, a historic building, a secluded garden and even on a riverboat.

  1. Downtown Halls

    • Couples can get married in a large hall or ballroom at a downtown facility with views of World's Fair Park. The Knoxville Museum of Art is available for rent for three hours, and includes usage of the Great Hall and gardens for up to 300 guests. The Knoxville Convention Center has a ballroom available for 1,600 guests, and it can be split into six smaller ballrooms- the center also has 14 other rooms for up to about 250 guests, and outdoor spaces also are available for ceremonies.

    Along the River

    • Admirers of the Tennessee River can have a wedding ceremony, reception and rehearsal dinner with a private charter aboard the Star of Knoxville. The Tennessee Riverboat Company provides a dance floor, entertainment and a climate-controlled deck all year long. Couples also have the option to get married on the banks of the river at the historic Bleak House Confederate Memorial Hall and its gardens. The gardens span more than three acres and include fountains and ponds, and a terrace also is available at the house.

    Outdoor Venues

    • Couples looking for an outdoor wedding, especially during the blooming spring months, can do so just outside of downtown Knoxville. Dara's Garden, located on 20 acres south of Knoxville's downtown, boasts a white manor house with hardwood floors and stone fireplaces, a courtyard area, a gazebo and fountain and multiple gardens. The Knoxville Botanical Garden & Arboretum features a courtyard and gardens with views of the Great Smoky Mountains. Gettysvue Polo, Golf & Country Club also offers outdoor space for weddings of up to 300 guests- golf packages are available.

    Historic Venues

    • Historic museums, homes and sites are found all over Knoxville. Several are available for wedding ceremonies. In addition to the historic Bleak House Confederate Memorial Hall, couples also can wed at Ramsey House Plantation, home of one of the first families to settle in Knoxville. Indoor space is available for up to 100 guests, and outdoor space is available for many more. The rural Marble Springs --- home of the first governor of Tennessee, John Sevier --- sits on nearly 35 acres and includes seven historical buildings, a pavilion area and tree-covered grounds for up to more than 200 guests.
