Diy nonfloral wedding centerpieces

Diy non-floral wedding centerpieces

It's interesting:
"Linda is an extraordinary woman. Resilient and fun-loving. If anyone had told me Paul would find a woman who loves gourmet cooking, travelling to exotic places and debating the merits of the Arsenal back four as much as him, I wouldn't have believed them. Yet here she is. You two are going to have quite a life together. "

Making your own non-floral centerpieces for a wedding is an economical way to dress up the tables. Fresh or silk flowers are often expensive- therefore, floral centerpieces have a large impact on the budget for the event. If the budget is not an issue, a non-floral centerpiece is unusual and works well if you prefer something other than standard flower arrangements to enhance the tables. Coordinating the centerpieces with the color scheme in the wedding helps increase your options in making do-it-yourself arrangement.

Things You'll Need

  • Mirror tiles
  • Pillar candles
  • Confetti
  • Glossy spray paint
  • Tree branches
  • Sharp knife
  • Glitter
  • Inexpensive trays or platters
  • Clear glass vases
  • Faux gems, glass beads, faux pearls, marbles, pebbles or any other colorful objects
  • Home decor balls or solid-colored Christmas ornaments
  • Hurricane lamps

Instructions

  1. Simple Centerpiece

    • 1

Place a mirror tile on the center of each table.

    • 2

Add a pillar candle in the middle of the tile. Choose a color that works well with the colors in the wedding. White, silver or gold are always wise choices if you cannot find coordinating colors as they almost match any theme.

    • 3

Sprinkle some confetti around the mirror tile. This adds an elegant and festive look along with a bit of color and texture.

    Branch Centerpiece

    • 4

Spray paint curly branches with a color that coordinates with the wedding theme. Sprinkle glitter over the paint while it is still wet. This adds a sparkly touch to the branches. Stand the painted branches up in a glass jar to dry. Allow about three or four branches per table setting. Another option is to purchase curly willow branches from a florist or craft and hobby store.

    • 5

Place inexpensive trays or platters on the center of the table. Party supply, craft, hobby and discount stores often carry these in silver, gold, white, black or many color selections. They are typically made from a hard plastic, but resemble expensive trays or platters. The metal-toned trays look similar to costly silver or gold-plated serving trays. Choose the color that works best with the theme of the wedding.

    • 6

Set an inexpensive, clear glass vase in the center of the tray. It can be any size you desire, but choose ones that are short enough so they don't hinder conversation.

    • 7

Fill the vase at least half way with faux gems, glass beads, faux pearls, marbles, pebbles or any other colorful objects you desire.

    • 8

Insert about three of four of the painted branches into the vase. Cut them shorter with a sharp knife, if necessary. Stagger the heights of the branches for an aesthetically pleasing look.

    • 9

Set decorative, home decor balls in the tray around the vase. Another option is to use round Christmas ornaments. Use enough balls or ornaments to circle the vase.

Tips &- Warnings

  • Place clear hurricane lamps over the pillar candles if you desire. This enlarges the size of the centerpiece. It works well when you have a table that sits eight to 12 guests, instead of smaller tables.

  • Browse through garage sales and thrift shops for inexpensive clear glass vases and hurricane lamps.
