Fun places in az

It's interesting:
"And for those of you who don't know, this special day in the lives of Dave and Sarah also happens to be Chinese New Year! Or, as they call it in China."

The Grand Canyon State boasts many less-famous sights that will swamp you with jaw-dropping beauty and entertainment. From Kartchner Caverns in the south, to Mount Humphries in the north, Arizona boasts canyons, caves, mountains and deserts in addition to some pretty swanky city lights.

  1. Southern Arizona on the Outside

    • Visit Ramsey Canyon Preserve's to see 15 species of hummingbirds, then hike Saguaro National Monument and rattlers at the nearby Sonora Desert Museum. Climb Millers' Peak or drive up Mt. Lemon for a taste of the Mountain Islands, or go spelunking.

    Southern Arizona on the Inside

    • Get a taste of history at San Xavier Mission in Tucson. Stroll the boardwalks and shops of Tombstone. Stop off in Tubac and Nogales for some border culture, then visit all the quirk that is Bisbee.

    Central Arizona on the Outside

    • Hike Camel Back Mountain or the Desert Botanical Gardens inside the sprawling metropolis that is Phoenix. Go out of town for Boyce Thompson Arboretum and the White Mountains. Find the Verde Hot Springs, complete with often naked hippies. See the Pueblo ruins of Besh-ba-Gowah and Montezuma's Castle. Go east to Pinetop-Lakeside, and ski Sunrise. Sail under Lake Havasu's London Bridge. Golf one of Arizona's 400 courses, or check out a dude ranch.

    Central Arizona on the Inside

    • Explore the Heard Museum's world famous Native American exhibits. Walk Mill Avenue for college-style shopping, dining, bars and theaters. Check out a Broadway production at Frank Lloyd Wright's Gammage Auditorium, then see his world-famous Taliesin West.

    Northern Arizona on the Outside

    • Hike the ruins at Wupatki Monument. Gawk at the volcanic landscape of Sunset Crater. Boat Lake Powell, and then hike Canyon de Chelly and Rainbow Bridge. Witness Meteor Crater, and wander through the Petrified Forest. Hike through the red rocks of Sedona, and cool off in Oak Creek. Camp along Schnebly Hill Road, and climb Mount Humphries. Visit the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, or glam it up at El Tovar on the South Rim. Find the Havasupai reservation's turquoise waterfalls straight out of Never Never Land.

    Northern Arizona on the Inside

    • Shop the galleries of Sedona and eat some homemade fudge. See the Los Abrigados Christmas light display make the cottonwoods dance against red rocks, and visit the Museum of Northern Arizona. Walk downtown Flagstaff's shops, cafes, micro-breweries and coffee shops before rounding things out at Lowell Observatory.
