Ranch style wedding locations in southern california

Ranch style wedding locations in southern california

It's interesting:
"It was a stipulation for the wedding that the groomsmen weren't allowed to look better than the Best Man today and I'm pleased to say they have accomplished ..."

With sweeping vistas and sun-drenched skies, the rural ranches of Southern California are as iconic as its bustling cities. Many ranches and estates are available for Southern California weddings, and many sites draw not only on the region's ranching past but on Southern California staples, such as the allure of Hollywood and the drama of the Wild West.

  1. Ranching, Roping and Romance

    • The bucolic gardens, farms and stables of a Southern California ranch nestle next to a restored, turn-of-the-century mansion at the Camarillo Ranch Estate in Ventura. Located an hour north of Los Angeles, the Camarillo Ranch Estate hosts multiple ceremony and reception sites that can hold parties from fifty guests to 600. Featuring traditional post-and-beam architecture, the Mule Barn is a rustic and romantic reception/ceremony facility. On-site restrooms, kitchens and rooms for the bridal party are included in the rental fee, but caterers, chairs, tables and linens will need to be sourced independently.

    A Grand Affair

    • Tucked away on thirty acres of land in Temecula, approximately an hour and a half south of Los Angeles, the Benton Ranch specializes in hosting ranch-style events and weddings. The covered horse arena can be converted into an event space for 700 guests. The sprawling lawns hold 600 guests, and the stables host small ceremonies of up to eighty guests. Rooms are available for the wedding party to prepare for the ceremony and can also be used as overnight accommodations. Valet or shuttle service for guests and event insurance are required and are the event host's responsibility. Guests can mingle until the wee hours, but any DJs or bands must finish by 10:00 pm. Chair, table, linen and tableware rentals are not included and must be independently sourced along with caterers and other support staff.

    Movie Stars and Mustangs

    • The Leo Carrillo Ranch in Carlsbad is the former home and working ranch of actor Leo Carrillo, best known for playing "Pancho" in the 1950s television series "The Cisco Kid." Opened to the public as a historic park in 2003, the ranch features twenty-seven acres of land, rustic Spanish-ranch architecture, windmills and event space for up to 150 guests. The uneven terrain may pose a challenge to parties with differently abled members, and liability insurance is required for all private events. Rental fees only cover the event site and required staff, so catering and chair/table rentals will need to be sourced. The ranch is only available for events from April to November.

    Love Springs Eternal

    • The Warner Springs Ranch, featuring world famous hot springs, has operated since 1844 in the Palomar Mountains. Located 90 minutes from San Diego, the ranch has several flexible spaces for indoor and outdoor weddings that draw inspiration from its history as a trading post and resting place for stagecoach travelers in the latter half of the nineteenth century. The Ortega Room can hold up to 100 guests, while larger parties can rent on-site party tents for outdoor locations. An on-site spa offers pre-wedding relaxation, while ranch-style recreations like horseshoe competitions, campfire cookouts and trail rides let guests mingle before the big day. The staff can cater for the dining facilities. The ranch has children's activities, making it an option for weddings whose guests include families.
