Camouflage cake ideas

Camouflage cake ideas

It's interesting:
"It is said that a Fall wedding is a very special one, because at a time when so much of the life around us is changing colors and dying, we gather together for a celebration of life and a brand new beginning. Indeed, today we are very privileged to welcome a new married couple into the world. I hope that every time you celebrate your anniversary, you will always think back to this wonderful Autumn day and remember all the love and warmth that you feel in this room right now."

Camouflage can be a creative way to decorate a cake for a variety of occasions. From a military man's homecoming party to a hunter's birthday party and even for a young boy who enjoys playing with toy soldiers, a camouflage theme works for any age. Although a camouflage pattern may sound complicated, there are a variety of ways you can create this type of cake easily.

Add this to my Recipe Box.

  1. Frosting

    • Use the frosting to make your cake into a camouflage masterpiece. Start with chocolate frosting , vanilla frosting and food dye. Put a few drops of green food dye into a bowl of vanilla frosting. You can make several bowls using varying amounts of the dye to make several different shades of green. Frost your cake using a random pattern, creating patches of brown and greens.

    Kits

    • Many party supply stores carry baking kits that contain all of the items necessary to decorate cakes in a particular theme, including camouflage cakes. These kits include items like military decoration decorations, hunting decorations, dye for the frosting and specially shaped cake pans. Some kits also contain items to go with the party theme, such as invitations, napkins, cups, plates and party favors.

    Toys

    • You can also use toys to decorate a cake with a camouflage theme. Bake the cake according to package decorations, and decorate it with chocolate frosting and dyed green frosting to create a camouflage background. Decorate the top of the cake with items like toy military soldiers, jeeps and tanks. Packages of these small plastic figures can be found at most toy stores or purchased online.

    Fondant

    • Use fondant in a variety of camouflage colors to decorate your cake. Roll out a piece of fondant large enough to cover the enter cake. Dampen the top of your large fondant piece, and add small pieces of different colored fondant in a variety of shapes and colors to the top of the cake to create a camouflage patten. You can also top the cake with toy soldiers for an added decorative touch.
