Ohio is located in the in the center of the United States. It includes larger metropolitan cities such as Cleveland, Cincinnati and Columbus. However, much of Ohio is rural and has some southern influence when it comes to music. Because of this, there is a variety of country music concerts and festivals that are offered throughout the state.

1. Jamboree in the Hills

   • Jamboree in the Hills takes place in eastern Ohio in the town of Belmont. Jamboree is a four-day country music festival that features dozens of well-known and amateur country music acts. The festival began in 1977 with popular musicians such as Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash and since then has offered a variety of popular performerss. Many of the festivalgoers camp on the premises, which makes the festival a communal four-day experience and more than just a concert.

   Country Concert at Clay's Park Resort

   • The Country Concert takes place in Fort Laramie, which is located in western Ohio. The concert is also a festival that includes three days of live country music on two stages. The main stage offers five ticket options, including stage front seats as well as general admission. Performers in 2011 were scheduled to include top country musicians such as Carrie Underwood, Jason Aldean and Montgomery Gentry. Camping is also permitted at night in designated camping areas that demand a separate camping fee.

   Country Fest Music Festival

   • The Country Fest Music Festival takes place at Clay's Park Resort and is located in North Lawrence, Ohio, which is about 10 miles south of Akron. In 2011, the second year for the festival, country performers such as Gary Allen, Miranda Lambert and Craig Morgan were scheduled. The two-day event also offers the amenities of Clay's Park Resort, including an indoor swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi, adventure water park access and a 20-acre fishing lake.

   Country Stage Music Park

   • The Country Stage Music Park is located Nova, Ohio, located about 30 miles west of Cleveland. The Country Stage offers a variety of country, western and bluegrass performers throughout the summer. The grounds are open Thursday through Saturday from June to October every year since 1976. Tickets are offered for Friday or Saturday only or weekend passes that include camping and a free soup dinner on Thursday evening. Every Thursday is open stage that includes amateur bands that sign up and get a chance to play.
