A wedding is a very special time in a young woman's life. With so many details to take care of, the planning process can become quite a whirlwind. If one of your sisters or good friends gets married, you may be asked to be the maid of honor. This is a very special role. Ask the wedding coordinator how long you have for your speech. You will not want prepare a 10-minute speech if you will only be allotted five minutes. Narrow down the ideas you brainstormed once you have more of an idea of the direction your speech. It will be a good idea to prepare an outline of your speech to help focus your ideas. Make sure you start with an introduction. You will want to introduce yourself and mention your relationship to the bride. Next go into the body of your speech, which will probably include some history about your relationship to the bride. Next you should mention when the groom entered the picture. End your speech on a positive note by wishing the bride and groom well and toasting them.
