Instructions

  1. Decorate for a Hillbilly Party

    • 1

Cut a cardboard box apart with the cardboard cutters into sign-sized pieces. Write hillbilly sayings or intentionally misspelled words on each piece and place them around the room or on walls and doors. For example, write "welcum" on one piece and tape it to the front door to welcome guests to the party.

    • 2

Hang a clothesline across the room, or if the party is outside, between a couple of trees. Clip up some boxer shorts and "bloomers," which is hillbilly slang for underwear. Add a couple of pairs of footed flannel pajamas or red flannel underwear.

    • 3

Scatter around some empty beer cans and old TV dinner trays. Make some moonshine jugs from washed-out old bleach bottles. Paint them to look like a moonshine jug, and place them on the tables for looks. String up white Christmas lights, or beer can lights around the ceiling. Some novelty stores sell beer can lights. Put some tacky plastic flowers in old canning jars or even empty tin cans.

    • 4

Decorate an empty refrigerator box like an outhouse on the outside with paint. Cut a door on it with the cutters and cut a moon crescent into the door. Prop the door open a bit to reveal a bucket and a few corn cobs for hillbilly toilet paper.

    • 5

Decorate with hillbilly-type food. Set out baskets with fruits. Fill a tray with crackers and set cans of spray cheese around the tray. Put a couple of metal wash tubs in the corners of the room. Fill them with ice and beer or bottles of soda, especially root beer. Place huge bowls of popcorn and cheese twists on the end tables. Hang a sign that says "Road Kill Cafe" near the food.

Tips &- Warnings

  • If there are artists among your friends, ask them to draw some cows and pigs on cardboard. Cut them out, and hang or stand them against the wall.

  • Don't use the fake moonshine jugs for serving drinks in case there is any bleach residue in it.
