Bridal shower thank you card sayings

Bridal shower thank you card sayings

It's interesting:
"You'd think I'd know better than to be out drinking in the early hours of the morning the night before a big wedding - but Paul's a mate and he needed some ..."

Figuring out exactly what to write in bridal shower thank you cards is an important task that eludes many brides-to-be. Using pre-printed cards lacks the personal touch of a handwritten card, so choose the tone and message you'd like your recipients to receive from you as you write out your thank you cards with personal sentiments, quotes and sayings.

  1. The Hosts

    • The very first cards you should write are to your gracious hosts. These will likely be the wordiest cards you send, as they should be. Their time in organizing the event should be recognized and appreciated along with the gifts you received. For example:

      "Dearest Cynthia,

I've always heard that good friends were hard to come by, so I must be blessed to have you in my life. All of the time and attention you put into my shower was obvious and I really appreciate it. On top of all of that, you were so generous with your gift. Every time we use the espresso machine, we will think of you. As a matter of fact, you'll have to join me for an espresso when I get back from the honeymoon.

I couldn't have asked for a better best friend. Thank you for everything.

      Love always,

      Gina"

    Quotes or Phrases

    • Although there aren't any well-known ready-made bridal shower thank you sayings, you can use a quote, Scripture passage or phrase that is meaningful to you and shows your appreciation. Write out the wording of your choice on every card, then add a quick personal note to go along with it. For example:

"'Happiness cannot be traveled to, owned, earned, worn or consumed. Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace and gratitude.' --Denis Waitley

      Dearest Aunt Sue,

Thank you so much for the china set. Marc and I will certainly think of you every time we use it. It was wonderful to see you again. Thank you once more.

      With love,

      Jenna Lee"

    Be Specific

    • Each guest should receive a personal message in her thank you card. This can be a simple "thanks for coming" if there was no gift given. For example:

      "Dear Mary,

It was wonderful to see you again. I really appreciate the time you took to attend my shower and bless me with your company.

      With love,

      Sarah"

However, if you did receive a gift, it's best to mention the specific gift and how you plan to use it, how much you look forward to using it or how much you wanted it. Acknowledge the actual gift- if the person gave you money, mention the "generous gift" no matter the amount. For example:

      "Dear Mrs. Harding,

Thank you so very much for the generous gift. It will really help Bobby and I with the honeymoon. Your company was a gift in itself and I sincerely appreciate your generosity.

      Thank you,

      Katie"

When writing thank you notes to friends or relatives who sent gifts but didn't make it to the event, thank them for their generosity and them know they were missed. For example:

      "Dearest Elaine,

You were missed at the shower, although I understand life is busy with a new baby. Thank you so much for the bed and bath set. I can't wait to make our bed using the luxurious sheets you sent. I can't wait to see you again, and we really appreciate your thoughtful gift.

      With love,

      Jennifer"
