How to destress after making a mistake

de-stress after making a mistake

It's interesting:
"Sorry if the speeches drag on. Wedding receptions can be a bit like an X Factor results show. You just want to skip through the talky bits to find out ..."

Making mistakes can be a cause for stress. People often find themselves irritable, unable to concentrate, and unable to sleep when they are stressed. Unfortunately, it is almost impossible for anyone to live without any stress. However, the human body has natural responses that we can stimulate to reduce stress healthily.

Find an inspirational quote or poem. Read it whenever you start to feel overwhelmed. It will help to you put the mistake behind you and move on by taking it off your mind. Consciously slow everything down and keep your thoughts and emotions in check. "If" by Rudyard Kipling is an example of an inspirational poem.

Head to the gym for a workout. Tough workouts release endorphins, dopamine and serotonin into your system. These chemicals give you the feeling of security, safety and happiness. Working out also removes stress-causing chemicals such as cortisol and norepinephrine from your system.

Watch something comedic like a funny movie, situation comedy or stand up. Laughing works your heart, lungs and several other muscles. Your brain responds to this activity by releasing more endorphins. Laughing also increases blood flow, which promotes muscle relaxation and helps with relieving stress.
