Rustic weddings in georgia

Rustic weddings in georgia

It's interesting:
"Normally, an outdoor spring wedding is a risk. Will there be snow? Will it be cold? Will it be hot? Will it rain? Thankfully, today the risk paid off with no precipitation, perfect weather, and a beautiful backdrop to see the union of Paul and Linda."

Georgia offers many venues suitable for a rustic, outdoor or garden wedding. The happy couple can choose from locales such as a breathtaking flower garden, a rustic mountain lodge, a world-class seaside resort or an outdoor wedding beside a waterfall. The state is also home to many grand mansions that offer garden weddings on the estate grounds.

  1. Callaway Gardens

    • Callaway Gardens is a 13,000-acre resort in Pine Mountain, which is located 60 minutes southwest of Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson airport. The gardens' main claim to fame is its spectacular flower displays, especially the azaleas that bloom in the spring. The Callaway Brothers Azalea Bowl, a 40-acre garden boasting more than 3,400 hybrid azaleas, is one of the wedding sites available at Callaway Gardens. Alternative wedding sites include a Gothic-style chapel, a 5-acre garden/greenhouse horticultural center, and two large conference/discovery center complexes.

    Jekyll Island Hotel

    • The Jekyll Island Club Hotel is located on Jekyll Island, a barrier island on Georgia's southeastern coast. Formerly an exclusive turn-of-the-century playground for families such as the Vanderbilts and Rockefellers, the club is now a four-star resort and a national historic landmark. The resort offers beachside, riverside or chapel weddings and a trolley to transport wedding guests to and from the ceremony. The hotel offers carriage rides, lawn croquet, golf, tennis and a private beachfront.

    Chota Falls

    • Chota Falls is a 150-acre private estate located in Rabun County, in the north Georgia mountains. The property includes a chapel, a lake, waterfalls, vineyards, mountain overlooks, three guest houses and a ballroom that accomodates 300 people. Couples can hold their wedding on a mountain overlook, in front of a waterfall, or beside a lake. Rental cabins are also available at nearby properties, or in the town of Clayton.

    R-Ranch in the Mountains

    • R-Ranch in the Mountains is a resort located just north of Dahlonega in the north Georgia mountains. The resort offers a 13,000-square-foot lodge with panaromic views of the mountains in the Chattahoochee National Forest, a swimming pool, tennis courts, horseback riding and rustic cabins. Weddings can be conducted inside the lodge, outside on a mountain overlook, or in a small hillside chapel. The lodge can seat up to 200 guests.
