survive the first night away from a new spouse
It's interesting:"Now everyone, I'm aware that it's a particularly cold winter's day for a wedding, but don't worry... if anyone is feeling a chill running down their spine it's ..."
The first time your new spouse goes away for the night, you may wonder how you will get through the time apart. Feelings of loneliness and sadness are normal. However, there are things that you can do while your spouse is away that will help you feel much better. Here's how you can survive the first night away from your new spouse.
Instructions
1
Go out with your friends. Being away from your new spouse can make you feel lonely. However, spending the evening with the friends that mean the most to you can be a big help. Go out to places that your spouse would not enjoy. You could go get manicures with your friends, go to a sporting event or even go shopping. Pick whatever it is that you enjoy doing most.
2
Rent some movies and watch them at home. A night away from your new spouse gives you a great opportunity to watch those movies that you love that your spouse might not enjoy. You may want to spend your night watching chick flicks or action movies. Be sure to pick up some popcorn and movie candy to complete your evening of movie watching.
3
Eat your favorite dinner. Here's your chance to have a dinner that only you want. Pick something that your spouse is not especially fond of for your special meal. You can cook your meal at home if you enjoy cooking or pick up some yummy take out to eat at home. This is your chance to enjoy some comfort food, like a huge baked potato loaded with butter, bacon bits, sour cream and cheese.
4
Chat with your friends on the telephone and have a late night gabfest without worrying about your spouse telling you that you are hogging the phone.
5
Call your spouse. Before your spouse leaves, make sure that you set up a time for the two of you to talk on the phone that first night that you are apart. You can tell each other about the day you have had and what you plan to do the next day. This is also a good way to tell each other goodnight before you both go to sleep.
6
Stay busy. Use the time away from your new spouse to get caught up on a project or to do something that you are interested in. You may choose to get caught up on organizing your photo albums, to read a new book or to finally clean out your garage. Whatever you do is up to you. But, if you stay busy, the time away from your new spouse will pass quickly.
