Tropicana Theater & Nightclub
The Tropicana Club was originally opened in 1946, and became one of the most celebrated nightclubs in New York City. The club was inspired by the original Tropicana Club in Cuba. Screen legend Desi Arnaz's character famously performed at The Tropicana on his popular TV show, I Love Lucy. Today, the Tropicana is located five blocks away from the original location. The club's style is reminiscent of the old club, with Art Deco decor. Today the club plays a mix of Latin, hip-hop, and top 40. The clubs has a troupe of cabaret dancers, known as the Tropicana Dolls, that perform sexy and sometimes topless dance routines.
Eros Lounge and Nightclub
Eros Lounge and Nightclub is a classy club serving top-shelf liquor and martinis. According to the club's website, you won't see any plastic cups- Eros insists on serving every drink in a glass. The club features four VIP rooms, and offers valet parking and coat check. Eros is decorated with plush leather chairs and has a disco ball on the dance floor. The bar is long, so there is plenty of space to slip in and order a drink. Eros Lounge and Nightclub plays all types of music including top 40, house, Latin, and hip-hop. There is usually a cover charge which varies in prices, and women can often get in for free before a certain time.
