Bridal party games

Bridal party games

It's interesting:
"The best man at my own wedding told me that one and it worked - for 15 years anyway, before she left me for someone short, fat and balding, who happened to ..."

A bridal party, sometimes referred to as a bridal shower, is a small party thrown in honor of the bride. The party guests eat, play games, make conversation and bring gifts for the bride. The party is usually informal, takes place four to six weeks before the wedding, and occurs at a friend's house. If you want to have a memorable party, focus on the food and fun. Party games never go out of style, and the more fun they are, the more happy memories they create.

  1. Pen-and-Paper Games

    • Pen-and-paper games may be more enjoyable for some of your guests. Games such as bingo, Wedding Word Scramble and About the Bride and Groom are fun and easy to play.

The bingo game at a bridal party should be different from other bingo games. When each guest arrives, give her a blank bingo card and have her write in the gifts she believes the bride will open at the party. For every gift that matches her guess, she stamps it on the card. When a row or column is filled, she calls, "Bingo."

Wedding Word Scramble is a list of wedding words, which the guests have to unscramble within a certain period. The first one done wins a prize.

About the Bride and Groom is a question sheet that asks questions about the couple. Questions like, "Where did the bride and groom first meet?" and "Who introduced them?" are examples. The person to get the most correct answers wins a prize.

    Funny and Crude Games

    • People always walk away remembering the funny and crude games. You don't need many of these at your party, just one or two really good ones.

Lemons is a fun game that will create lots of laughs. Place several lemons in stockings, then have each guest wrap them around her waist. Fill soda bottles a third of the way up with water. Tell the guests to swing their hips to knock over the soda bottles. The first person to knock them all down wins.

Pop the Balloon can be used with either balloons or condoms. Blow up a balloon and insert a slip of paper into each one. Write the bride and groom's wedding date on one of the slips of paper. Give each guest a balloon and let her pop it. The person with the wedding date slip is the winner.

An easy game that requires no materials is Gossip. Have guests sit on a circle. One person must whisper a phrase to the person beside her. The phrase can be about the bride and groom, weddings in general or the honeymoon. The phrase gets whispered around the room and the last person then says the phrase out loud. The phrase is usually completely different than how it started.
