Pearl Harbor is located near a lagoon on Oahu Hawaii, surrounded by a United States Navy base. The USS Arizona Memorial commemorates the attack on Pearl Harbor that took place Dec. 7, 1941. It exhibits the sunken wreck of the battle ship USS Arizona through an opening in the floor, allowing visitors to throw flowers in remembrance of the fallen sailors.
