Celebrity bridesmaid hairstyles

It's interesting:
"It was 48 hours before the wedding and I had zero best man speech made. 2 hours after I found your site I had logged off with an excellent speech.' Luke Betts ..."

As a bridesmaid, your main duty is to help the bride before and during her big day. Although not as important, you also have the responsibility of representing the bride and that includes being stylish in both what you wear and how you do your hair and make-up. While some brides choose their bridesmaids' dresses, it is almost always up to the bridesmaid to choose her hair style. If you don't have something in mind, take a cue from styles worn by celebrities on the red carpet.

Does this Spark an idea?

  1. Traditional Updos

    • Jennifer Love Hewitt is a great inspiration for a classic chignon.

Traditional updos such as buns, chignons and side buns always look elegant at weddings. Take a cue from Sarah Jessica Parker or Jennifer Love Hewitt, who often wear their hair in chignons. Traditional updos work for all types of weddings, but are especially relevant for black tie or large, traditional weddings. A high bun, such as the one worn by Audrey Hepburn in "Breakfast at Tiffany's" and reinterpreted by Penelope Cruz at the BAFTAs is another classic, timeless style.

    Modern / Messy Updos

    • Messy updos look great at less formal weddings.

Messy updos became a big trend in 2010, not only because they are a fresh take on the updo, but because they are also easy to create on any type of hair, even at home. Jennifer Lopez had a messy ponytail, while Mariska Hargitay had wisps of hair falling out of her bun at the 2010 Academy Awards. Taylor Swift, Angelina Jolie and Heidi Klum are also celebrities who frequently sport messy updos. The messier styles are more modern and compliment less formal weddings, or weddings where the bride has a more casual hair style.

    Long Hair Styles

    • Kate Winslet's curls could easily be worn by bridesmaids.

Shiny long hair can look beautiful when worn with a low-cut or strapless bridesmaid gown. Sandra Bullock's shiny straight locks or Cameron Diaz's and Kate Winslet's soft curls at the 2010 Academy Awards were great examples of accentuate a low neckline or play down a fancier dress. The trend continued at the 2011 Golden Globes, where January Jones Leighton Meester and Hilary Swank opted for soft, flowing curls. Long hair works great for almost all wedding styles, but should be avoided if you wear closed-cut or high-neckline dresses, as it can look too fussy.

    Short Hair Styles

    • Short pixie cuts are favored by various celebrities on the red carpet.

You should not feel limited if you have short hair. Sleek bobs, pixie cuts, pin curls, finger waves or even short hair updos have all been worn by celebrities on the red carpet. Look to Halle Berry for inspiration. The actress has worn both pixie cuts and bouncy bobs on the red carpet. Katie Holmes and Eva Longoria have also worn sleek bobs, while Scarlett Johansson and Charlize Theron often step out to big events with their short hair pinned back into low buns.
