Beachthemed wedding colors

Beach-themed wedding colors

It's interesting:
"'I used your site to create my wedding speech. I dropped in lots of clever one- liners and it was a great success. This site gave me everything I needed and more.' ..."

When choosing your wedding colors, you are committing to two or three colors that will be repeated throughout your wedding. The colors will appear in your wedding invitations, favors, bridesmaids dresses, table linens and everywhere else color is required. If you are dreaming of foreign beaches but won't be getting married on or near one, you can easily choose one of several color palettes to bring the beauty of the beach to your wedding, wherever it may be.

  1. Blue

    • Blue represents the water and the sky and is a perfect color for a beach theme. Choose from light blue to dark blue, but don't feel limited to one shade. If you are choosing three colors, it is okay to choose a lighter shade and a darker shade of blue. If you begin with blue you can easily pair it with other colors to complement it like white (think fluffy clouds and wave caps) or pale browns (think sand and the bark of tropical trees like palms) or green (think tropical greens). Blue is such a major player in a beach scene that it makes for a no-brainer choice when planning a beach-themed color scheme.

    Turquoise

    • Like blue, turquoise is indicative of sparkling tropical waters and is a perfect choice for ocean- or beach-themed wedding colors. Several shades of turquoise and aqua look fabulous when combined with other colors. For a tropical beach theme, try turquoise with lime and fuchsia or, for a more basic scheme, go with turquoise and add white, ivory or cream. Turquoise is also lovely with pale blues and sandy browns and can even be combined with shades of itself for contrast. It is best, however, to stick to one palette for your wedding, as the beach theme will be visible instead of a muddle of too many colors.

    Other Combinations

    • Never feel confined to blue and turquoise to create your beach-themed wedding color scheme. Plenty of other combinations allude to tropical, beachy climates. Orange with fuchsia and green speak of tropical flowers while a scheme of two or three shades of green might evoke dense tropical rain forests on the edge of the beach. Pick mocha and pair it with white or ivory or both. Choose a theme that speaks to you. You can also use a color wheel to aid in finding colors that naturally contrast one another to help you create a dynamic beach theme that is sure to look great.
