About disney world weddings

It's interesting:
"It is said that a Fall wedding is a very special one, because at a time when so much of the life around us is changing colors and dying, we gather together for a celebration of life and a brand new beginning. Indeed, today we are very privileged to welcome a new married couple into the world. I hope that every time you celebrate your anniversary, you will always think back to this wonderful Autumn day and remember all the love and warmth that you feel in this room right now."

Ever since Walt Disney opened his famous theme park in Orange County, California, people from all over the world have been flocking there to experience that special Disney magic. It's only logical that life-long fans of the park will want to experience the most important day of their lives in one of the theme parks. That's why Disney World features an extensive array of wedding packages, from the casual to ones that are out of this world. Whatever your wedding fantasy is, Disney will help you create it.

  1. History

    • The first Disney park, Disneyland, was created in Anaheim, California. It was opened in 1955. It was such a success that the company created a similar park in Orlando. It was known as the Walt Disney World Resort, and it was opened to the public in 1971. While Disneyland was originally based on one park, Disney's California Adventure was opened in the late 1990's. Orlando's Resort consists of four theme parks, a dozen hotels, and--most importantly for couples--a wedding pavilion that overlooks a lake. Better yet, it's right in the heart of Disney property. Though weddings have been held informally at Walt DIsney World since the park first opened, it wasn't until 1995 that Disney decided to focus on providing weddings with that special Disney touch. On July 15, 1995, the wedding pavilion was dedicated. Over the years, it has become one of the world's most exclusive wedding spots.

    Types

    • There are three basic types of Disney weddings. The first is called the "Escape" and is intended for couples who want small ceremonies of 18 or fewer guests. For guests who want a slightly larger ceremony, the second largest package is called the "Couture" package and is meant to create a sense of elegance and luxury. Under this plan, weddings can have up to 300 guests, and they are generally held at Disney's wedding pavilion. The final package is called "Wishes," and it is created around an individual couple's fantasy wedding. "Wishes" weddings can be held anywhere from the wedding pavilion to Cinderella's castle, and can accommodate any number of guests. The "Wishes" package is designed to encompass a once-in-a-lifetime experience that has no limits on its scope and grandeur.

    Geography

    • Disney World weddings are generally held in one of five locations, though Disney will accommodate other requests as well. The most popular spot is the Wedding Chapel located adjacent to the Grand Floridian Hotel. Other popular spots include Sunset Point at the Polynesian Resort, Sea Breeze Point at the Boardwalk Hotel, the Wedding Gazebo at Disney's Yacht Club, and Sunrise Terrace at the Wilderness Lodge.

    Considerations

    • Getting married at Disney World offers some unique perks that can't be experienced anywhere else. You can choose to have Mickey Mouse head the ceremony, or Donald Duck can walk you down the aisle. For an additional fee, you can have all your favorite characters come to your reception and dance with guests. Weddings can be scheduled to take place during the evening fireworks or next to the lake in Epcot as Illuminations lights up the sky.

    Warning

    • Like all fantasy weddings, luxury comes with a price. Disney World weddings are incredibly expensive. The most affordable package, "Escape," can accommodate 18 guests. However, expect to pay a relatively high rate per attendee compared to other facilities. The "Couture" package, based on luxury and elegance, starts at roughly ten times the price charged per guest of an "Escape" wedding, and "Wishes" is individually priced based on which options the couple chooses. To close the park and get married at CInderella's Castle can cost well over six figures. Like all weddings, the more extravagant and luxurious the ceremony, the higher the price tag will be.
