A 60th birthday is a milestone event that should be appreciated with an unforgettable party. When planning a 60th birthday celebration, it is always best to choose a theme that honors the person's vitality, favorite eras and lifelong accomplishments.
Black-Tie/Casino
Order or desktop-publish casino-themed invitations that ask your guests to dress in formal black-and-white attire. Decorate the party room walls with casino-themed posters, such as original "Casino Royale" movie posters. Use black-and-white tablecloths and table settings with one elegant gold- or silver-star centerpiece. Purchase inexpensive fedoras or gangster hats, and tiaras to hand out to your guests when they arrive. Serve elegant hors d'oeuvres and main dishes along with champagnes and non-alcoholic ciders. Section off different areas for poker, blackjack and bingo and other popular games, and give guests lots of play money to keep things fun and entertaining.

Decorate the room with vintage memorabilia from the various stages of the guest of honor's life, as well as current photos and awards. Serve the guest of honor's favorite vintage and current dishes and desserts. Decorate the cake with a collage illustration of the honoree's professional and personal accomplishments.
