It's interesting:
"You know, I’ve been to lots of great weddings, but today may have been the best. The small, ornate chapel – the beautiful music – the sincere words that Paul and Linda wrote themselves. Ladies and gentlemen, we all witnessed something very special."

If you are a do-it-yourself bride, then you may be interested in making your own wedding invitations. You may think you need a fancy design program to make professional-looking wedding invitations. In reality, you can do your own wedding invitation on Microsoft Word, a program available on most computers.

Things You'll Need

  • Computer with Microsoft Word
  • Pre-cut or sheets of cardstock
  • Laser printer
  • Scissors or paper cutter (optional)
  • Ink cartridge(s) with the colors on template

Instructions

    • 1

Open a new document. Open your Microsoft Word program and open a new document.

    • 2

Choose an invitation template. When you choose to open a new document, Microsoft Word gives you the option of opening a blank document or choosing from a template. Scroll down the template list, choose the invitations template option and then choose the wedding invitations from the invitations template list.

    • 3

Choose a wedding invitation template. Scroll through the wedding invitation template options and pick the one you want to customize and personalize for your wedding invitations.

    • 4

Choose a font. Microsoft Word offers a variety of font styles from which to choose. Scroll through the fonts available on your computer and pick the font style you want to use.

    • 5

Type your text. Choose the verse or wording you want to use on the wedding invitation and type it into the text box area of the template. For inspiration or help in wording your wedding invitation, you can use a website such as www.verseit.com.

Buy cardstock. Go to the page layout option in your Microsoft Word wedding invitation template to determine the size. Write this down and go to your local stationery or craft store to buy pre-cut invitations that fit these dimensions. You can also buy cardstock that you can cut down to the dimensions you need.

Print the invitations. Feed one invitation into the printer at a time until you have enough wedding invitations to send to your guests.
