decorate church interior for wedding
It's interesting:"I hope you like these wedding suits. To make sure I would be able to fit into mine I 've been watching my weight. As you can see I've had it right out in front of me ..."
Churches are beautiful places of sanctuary and peace and they are the traditional location for weddings. Some churches are more elegant than others, so you may want to decorate the church interior to create a more celebratory atmosphere for your special day.
Things You'll Need
- Pew Bows
- Candles
- Flowers
- Ribbon
- Tulle
- 1 Small Table
- Flower Petals
Instructions
1
Talk to the church administration and find out what you are and aren't allowed to do in terms of decorating the church. Some churches don't permit candles, some don't allow you to toss flower petals or rice and so forth. Also, find out how early before the ceremony you are allowed to enter the church and decorate. Plan accordingly.
2
Make pew bows ahead of time. Stream ribbon or tulle from one aisle pew to another all the from the front of the church to the last row in the back. Do this on the inside aisles only. The outside aisles are where the guests will enter each row so keep these clear. Attach a bow to the end of each aisle. Secure the bows with pew bow holders or tape.
3
Arrange a large floral basket or arrangement and place it at the altar. Hang tulle over the doorway arches and secure with ties and tape. Create small floral arrangements and attach one to every third row along with the pew bow. Put a floral arrangement on either side of the doorway. These look elegant when put into large elevated containers or planter stands.
4
Roll a white carpet down the aisle and smooth out the surface. Sprinkle rose petals in the wedding colors along the sides of the runner. Set up little tea lights between every two aisles and light them for a romantic look and atmosphere. If there are many small children, ask that adults sit near the tea lights for safety.
5
Set up a small table near the entrance. Cover it with a table cloth. Set up a photo of the happy couple (their engagement photo if they have one). Set out the guest book and some fancy pens for guests to use. Also put a small flower arrangement together and place it in a vase. Set this on the opposite side of the photo so the table is balanced.
Tips &- Warnings
Ask the church ahead of time what is and isn't permitted
Be careful where you place candles if using lit candles as small children (or others) may stumble on them.
