1. La Salle Canal Boat

   • LaSalle Canal Boats offers several historic and educational canal boat cruises. Mules pull the canal boats, and employee-actors dressed as pioneers hand lead them down tow paths alongside the Illinois & Michigan. Actors posing as historical characters, such as Mary Todd Lincoln, reenact historical scenes on board the cruising canal boats. Lunches and snacks are provided and cruises range from one to five hours.

   Starved Rock Adventures

     Starved Rock Adventures, named after a tall sandstone rock formation in Starved Rock State Park, offers one-hour narrated cruises aboard the paddle boat, "Belle of the Rock." It can carry 49 passengers and accommodates weddings, outings and large group tours. Private parties are also possible, as well as lunch cruises. Adult prices are $14. Seniors and children are charged reduced fees. Starved Rock Adventures rents kayaks, canoes, houseboats, cabins, suites and offers Florida Airboat rides.

     Styled after a three-tiered wedding cake, "Spirit of Peoria" is a paddle riverboat offering either two-day/one overnight, or three-day/two overnight packages. Cruises depart round-trip from Peoria and travel to Starved Rock State Park Lodge. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served aboard the river paddle-wheeler. Passengers are entertained with live music, participate in period style sing-a-longs and review-style shows. Actors in turn-of-the-century costume tell stories of river history.
